This March, we are asking you to take on our brand new fundraising challenge, Ten for TEN! The challenge is simple - commit to taking on a specific challenge every day for 10 days. Whether you run 10k, swim 10 laps, walk 10 miles, meditate for 10 minutes, or perform 10 acts of kindness, you will raise vital funds for This Ends Now. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you and watch the donations roll in.

If committing to a daily challenge isn’t feasible, no problem! We're simply asking you to take on any challenge that works for you. Instead of 10k every day, you could commit to running a total of 10k over 10 days, or even less. Your comfort and safety are our priorities, so feel free to adapt the challenge to suit your needs. Whatever works for you, works for us!

  • By taking on Ten for TEN, you are helping us create a world free from gender-based oppression. Our mission is simple - to prevent gender-based inequality by reframing the conversation around feminism and dismantling patriarchy.

  • There’s no set target – we simply ask you to raise what you can to support our work! If you’d like a goal, we suggest aiming for £100, which is just £10 per day for the 10 days.

  • Brilliant question! The money you raise could go to helping us roll out our Words Matter reporting guidelines to other police constabularies across England and Wales. Words Matter is This Ends Now’s flagship set of initiatives that aim to reframe the conversation on gender-based oppression and highlight the role that language plays in how society understands male violence against women and girls (MVAWG). On 5 October 2024, This Ends Now launched the first Words Matter reporting guidelines with our collaborators, the Gloucestershire Constabulary and Gloucestershire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. These guidelines provide clear information on how police external communications teams should avoid victim blaming language in their reports and use language that centres the actions of perpetrators and encourages greater respect toward victims/survivors. We recognise that media outlets draw much of their problematic language directly from police communications about these incidents and the context they occur in, so, we decided to address media headlines where they begin - police external communications.

Your donations can also help ensure that we can continue our work. This could fund our proposed training and resources, support the expansion of our Words Matter program, and cover essential operational tools that enable us to continue to drive and create meaningful change.

  • This Ends Now was founded on the belief that changing language will change how society understands gender-based oppression. Generational patriarchy has woven misogyny into the victim blaming and perpetrator-erasing language that is predominantly used to describe MVAWG.

Evidence has shown that wording around these incidents is powerful enough to discourage victims/survivors from coming forward and perpetuate the narrative that women and victims are at fault. By supporting This Ends Now, you can help us take our reporting guidelines to other constabularies across England and Wales, creating real seismic change.

  • Signing up is simple! Sign up by clicking the button above and you'll receive everything you need to get started, including tips on how to fundraise and ideas for your challenge. We’ll also send you resources to help you share your challenge with friends, family, and colleagues.

  • That’s totally okay! Life can get busy, and we understand that flexibility is key. If you need to spread your challenge over a longer period or take breaks in between, feel free to adjust it to fit your schedule. The important part is that you’re contributing to the cause in a way that works for you.

  • While we'd love for you to take on Ten for TEN in March to align with International Women’s Day on March 8th, you don’t have to stick to specific dates. You can choose any 10 days in March that suit your schedule. If it’s more convenient to start earlier or later, that’s completely fine – just let us know when you plan to do your challenge, and we’ll be cheering you on! We would suggest March 3rd through to March 12th.

  • You can share your fundraising page with friends, family, and colleagues via email, social media, or even in person. We’ll provide you with some example messaging you can use to make it easier to explain why you’re taking on this challenge and how their donations will make a difference.

  • Absolutely! Taking on Ten for TEN as a team can be a great way to motivate each other. Whether you form a team with friends, colleagues, or family members, you can set up a joint fundraising page and work together to reach your goal.

  • Your challenge should be something you feel comfortable doing. Whether it’s a physical challenge like running or swimming, or something less physical and more relaxing like meditation or acts of kindness, the choice is yours! The only rule is that your challenge should have a '10' theme – so think about activities you can do for 10 days, 10 times, or something with '10' in the goal.

  • No worries! We’ll provide you with tips and resources to help you succeed. From setting up your fundraising page to promoting your challenge and thanking your supporters, we’ve got you covered. Remember, it’s the effort that counts, and every donation helps.

  • No, there’s no entry fee to take part in Ten for TEN. We encourage everyone to participate, regardless of their financial situation, and raise what they can. Every pound you raise will go directly towards helping us achieve our mission.

  • Of course! If the challenge isn’t for you, you can still support our cause by making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue our work. You can donate directly here.

  • Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive access to your own fundraising page, where you can track how much you’ve raised, see who has sponsored you, and share updates about your challenge. It’s a great way to stay motivated and keep your supporters in the loop.

  • We’ll be with you every step of the way! You’ll receive a fundraising pack with everything you need to get started, plus regular emails with tips, encouragement, and inspiring stories from other participants. If you have any questions or need advice, our friendly team is just an email away.

  • Once your challenge is complete, don’t forget to thank your supporters and share your success! You’ll also receive a digital certificate to celebrate your achievement. If you’ve enjoyed the experience, we’d love to keep you updated on future campaigns and events.
